Hacienda El Carmen in Jalisco, Mexico
In November, I had the insane pleasure of traveling to Jalisco, Mexico for my week-long workshop with Jose Villa. This came at the perfect time, right after my last local wedding of the year, and before our last wedding of the year in Maui. Since it was my first time in Mexico, I was flooded with many emotions; mostly being nervous and unbelievably excited. The drive from the airport to the Hacienda was the perfect way to familiarize myself with this new culture. I immediately spotted the Barbacoa, Carne Asada, and taco stands, so I knew I was in good company. The sun was setting just past the beautiful mountains as we drove down winding roads and finally reached the most spectacular Hacienda where I would be staying for the week. I couldn’t help but feel like I was inside a movie, as I had never seen or experienced anything like it before. The following morning I took a few rolls of the wonderful Kodak Ektar 100 to snap these lovely and vibrant shots which perfectly show off the beauty of the Hacienda. There’s nothing quite like laying in your own hammock with roosters and peacocks strolling right by.
Dude, you nailed it!! I’m right back there! xoxo
